Thriving in Ministry
Thriving in Ministry is one of many programs offered by Lifelong Learning
at Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS) that supports lay and ordained leaders in their ministries.
Supported by the Lilly Endowment Inc. since 2018, Thriving in Ministry at VTS has two aims:
1
To create vibrant peer learning groups for clergy in distinct settings.
2
To advance the continuing education of clergy through the support of trained mentors.

Thriving in Ministry
believes that adult learners thrive when given the freedom to identify what they want to learn and then receive consistent coaching and feedback from peers that enables them to reach those learning goals. Thriving in Ministry offers clergy the ways to claim the unique strengths each brings to ministry and to the church.
Thriving in Ministry at VTS has created novel ways for clergy to identify it is they need learn to flourish in their vocation. We are energized by our mission and inspired by the prospect of your participation.
A Two-Year Journey
The learning that occurs in Thriving in Ministry unfolds over the course of two years during 18 monthly peer sessions and 18 monthly one-on-one sessions with a Thriving mentor. All sessions take place virtually.
